Frequently asked questions

What is Franciscan prayer like? How often do they pray as a community?

Prayer is the foundation and heart of Franciscan religious life. This prayer is both communal and personal. All Franciscan fraternities in the Province have at least two periods of common prayer each day: morning and evening. Also, the Eucharist is celebrated daily, and the presider is usually a friar of the fraternity.

The prayer of the Franciscans is the prayer of the Church: the liturgy of the hours. We also celebrate in a special way the major Franciscan liturgical feast days and the major figures from our tradition.
